COPPeR - Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region - The Art in the Storefronts project is by no means unique to The Pikes Peak region. Many communities around the world have found great success in re-imagining their neighborhoods and reinvigorating their local economy by filling empty storefronts with art installations, live performances, art galleries, or pop-up shops. Check out some examples here: Installations! Pop-up Galleries! Art for Rent? This new "medium" has given local artists a fresh new way to express themselves and has caused many creatives and business-minded people alike to change the way they think of art.
In the meeting we will:
-Take a glance at projects from other cities
-Collaboratively brainstorm ideas for possible projects
-Discuss the application process for artists and property owners
