Artist Lori Melena Successful at CHAC
The Exhibit: All the artists are from Colorado and represent all mediums: oil, watercolor, acrylic and photography. Everyone has presented their art publicly and all but one has shown at CHAC. The name, “Prisoners of Art”, is a statement about how we all feel about art. It is an important part of our lives and we are “held captive” by the need to create. We believe that part of us can be seen in our art. It’s not the “tools” that make a great painting or photograph, but the eye and mind of the artist.
When: through 8/31.
Where: Chicano Humanities and Arts Council, 772 Santa Fe Dr, Denver
Artists: Lori Melena, Judy Miranda, Tom Mares, Juanita Hernandez, and Lucille Ruibal-Rivera. Also showing works by Nancy Slyter, Jeremy Sawyer and Sonny Valdez in CHAC Norte.
