2013 Progenitor ACC Literary Mag Wins 1st Place with Special Merit

Sent in by SoHa Author and 2013 Progenitor [ACC Literary Magazine] Creative Director, Mollie Rue… Progenitor 2013 was awarded a “First Place with Special Merit” award for the American Scholastic Press Association School Magazine contest  and one of our ACC students, Joyce McClain won best Photograph for her photo, “Belize.”

Quotes from Magazine Judge ASPA 2013:  “Your magazine shows the superior efforts of talented and creative editors, writers, artists, photographers, layout/graphic designers, staff members and advisors.  ASPSA congratulates all on your First Place with Special Merit award… Progenitor is an amazing publication!  You have mastered not only the elements of a good publication (staffbox, table of contents etc) but you have also published excellent word from your school population.  Progenitor is a model for those up-and-coming magazines and inspiration for those magazines that haven’t quite aced the necessary skills.”
