Littleton Museum  Fine Arts Gallery, Play of Light : Works by Jane Guthridge.  As seen on www.facebook.com/littetonmuseum Inspired by the brilliance of Colorado’s sunshi ne, Jane Guthridge succeeds in manipulating thin, layered materials and altering the directionality of light. Playing with the very nature of light, she manages to capture the intangible by copying shapes made by natural dappled sunlight and shadows, then abstracting those compositions. Whether suspended, layered, or reflected, the “light forms” she creates evoke familiar visions of a moment in nature. Draw on your love for nature. Join the Ridgegate Plein-Air sketch & hike on Thursday, June 27th 6:30-8pm. No fancy artistic skills required. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a casual doodler, you’ll want to join this unique hike to experience and capture the beautiful RidgeGate Bluffs. You’ll be guided by Carol “Cookie” Peterson , an award-winning local artist, and South Suburban Parks and Recreation District naturalist Beth Hanson . We’ll provide everything you need for a morning of plein-air sketching, including pencils, paper, and clipboards. Just bring your appreciation for the inherent beauty in nature.  Friends, family and kids ages 5+ are welcome on this gentle summer hike. Found this tree and built a painting around it. I started with sky being very pale. After  all, that's what the photo showed 😉  After the painting sat for a day or two I realized I needed to pump up the saturation in the sky, particularly around the tree. Boy what a difference.
