South Platte Park Recognizes Volunteers
Budding Blossom Award 2013 for a new volunteer with exceptional potential |
The Carson Nature Center is a well-kept secret. To the staff, volunteers, and hundreds of visitors who annually enjoy the area - run, bike, walk, walk dogs, and oh yeah partake in Nature (with a capital N) - and the kids brought in for school programs, it's no secret how marvelous the environment is. The staff and volunteers are working like crazy to keep it that way, share, and maintain the natural wonder. Put this on your must-get-done-list for every year: visit South Platte Park and the Carson Nature Center once a month. Better yet, enjoy the public programs and tell your school to participate in the school programs. And even better - volunteer - even if it's only 5 hrs/month. Just do it! Take it from me - the 2013 winner of the Budding Blossom Award (I've come a long way from the note on my 6th grade report card: "...is content to do the minimum") - get yourself over to South Platte Park. You'll be glad you did.
Your mission: Visit for the nature, stay to volunteer.
Register now for Nature Journaling Workshop: Nature Journaling from the Outside In.
Where: SOUTH PLATTE PARK, CARSON NATURE CENTER (north of Mineral, west of Santa Fe) 3000 W Carson Drive, Littleton, CO 80120 |
