Calling all model railroad enthusiasts: view an amazing O-Gauge Lionel Train exhibit, running two main lines and an additional two tracks for staging, complete with scenery and weathered buildings. The featured trains are manufactured by Lionel Trains, dating from the 1930's to the present time. When: Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 from 10 AM until 4 PM Where:  The Inn at Hudson Gardens, 6115 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton. Directions: 1/2 mile S of Bowles Ave; 3 miles N of C-470; on west side of Santa Fe Drive & across the street from Arapahoe Community College. For one morning only, Sat 3/12 @ 9:30a-12:30p, South Suburban Parks & Recreation is offering: Shakespeare Workshop: Stage-Combat, Physical Comedy, and Juggling… “Learn how to fight on stage and use juggling and physical comedy techniques to create the exciting  Act I Scene 1  from Romeo and Juliet.  Students will work on each of the individual skills then be blocked to perform a section of crowd scene/fight from the play. South Suburban Seeks Partners for Arts Outreach

South Suburban’s Culture and Enrichment Division is seeking funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) through the Arapahoe County Cultural Council to provide an "Artist-in Residence" Outreach Program in 2012. Organizations and schools (within the boundaries of both Arapahoe County and South Suburban Parks & Recreation District) interested in participating in the program and partnering with South Suburban’s professional art staff to provide specialty art or performing arts workshops for school, library, senior center, Girl Scout, Boy Scout or other community groups in 2012 are invited to submit a Letter of Intent. Sample projects include classes, performances, or creation of a permanent artwork installed in a facility. Submission of a Letter of Intent does not guarantee an award.
