Just in from the SoHa region's Lone Tree Arts Center... This March, Stories on Stage: A Colorado Collection , Tartan Terrors , and Spencers: Theatre of Illusion will make their home in the brand new 500 seat Main Stage Theater. What : Stories on Stage includes readings from the works of Colorado writers. The Tartan Terrors, a Celtic comedy romp, blending champion bagpiper, drums, guitar, Highland dancers, and kilts. Spencers: Theatre of Illusion goes beyond mere magic and into the realm of the seemingly impossible with danger, drama, and, of course, personality. Writers Studio 8th Annual Literary Contest features Poetry, Fiction, and/or Creative Nonfiction. One winner in each category wins $250 and will be Writers Studio's special guest for its Annual Spring Literary Festival on April 21. SoHa Happenings Editor writes: "... Last night my husband and I saw The Whale at the Denver Center Ricketson Theatre . Stunning. The language - the writing - is superb. The performance by the tight-knit ensemble compelling and humbling. When it was all over; when all was said and done, the audience shuffled out of the theater en masse as though leaving a funeral hall. That's how much the work touched all of us. From different backgrounds, each with our own life experience. We heard nothing beyond foot steps and an occasional "excuse me" as members navigated the stairs up and out of the theater. As we emerged you could hear the sighs of relief.... It's about a man, his predicament, and the people who share it with him.
